Being a Republican committeeperson requires a year-round commitment. The following list features the most important duties of effective grassroots party workers each month.

January

  • Register Republican voters
  • Get to know Republicans who will be running for office during the year

February

  • Circulate nominating petitions for Republican candidates
  • Register Republican voters

March

  • Circulate nominating petitions for Republican candidates
  • Register Republican voters

April

  • Distribute literature for the candidates
  • Register Republican voters

May

  • Distribute absentee ballots
  • Conduct literature blitz prior to the primary election
  • Make phone calls on behalf of Republican candidates before the primary
  • Register Republican voters

June, July, and August

  • Work booths at county and other fairs, meet voters, and distribute literature
  • Take Republican candidates around to meet voters
  • Distribute absentee ballots
  • Register Republican voters

September

  • Recruit volunteers to help out and put them to work
  • Take Republican candidates around to meet voters
  • Distribute absentee ballots
  • Register Republican voters

October

  • Canvass your township or borough, arrange rides to polls on Election Day as needed
  • Recruit poll watchers
  • Take Republican candidates around to meet voters
  • Review list of voters in your township or borough
  • Distribute absentee ballots
  • Conduct literature blitz prior to the general election

November

  • Make phone calls on behalf of Republican candidates immediately before the general election
  • Oversee poll watchers on Election Day
  • Make voter turnout calls on Election Day
  • Thank volunteers

December

  • Register Republican voters
